Our spirits leap high in anticipation of a new year! This spring, the Forest Hills Choir explores different shades of spirituality- from the somber to the jubilant. The choir will be singing Gabriel Fauré's masterful arrangement of the Requiem mass, which is considered by some to be his finest work. As a counterweight to the introspective Requiem, the choir will delve into the vivacious melodies and contagious rhythms of spiritual and gospel music. Spirituals are a uniquely American song form and as part of our heritage, this style is long overdue for a bit of Forest Hills Choir attention!
