Dr. Todd Wachsman is the founder and artistic director of the Forest Hills Choir. Todd received his undergraduate degree from Northern Arizona University, a master’s degree at Queens College, and his Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Arizona. Todd has a long association with Forest Hills, particularly through St. Luke’s Episcopal Church where he sang as cantor and worked as assistant music director for many years.
In addition to the Forest Hills Choir, Todd currently serves on the faculty at Adelphi University teaching conducting and directing the Adelphi Chorale. He has held appointments at Hofstra University, Queens College, the Astoria Choir, and the Green Valley Community Chorus. His compositions include two song cycles for voice and piano and several choral works, many of which have been premiered by the Forest Hills Choir.
Todd also works as a professional singer and has had engagements in Europe as well as singing backup for Josh Groban on the Tonight Show and at the U.S. Open.
